I know that a few people were interested in my suit; wondering what it is made of, what it is like to put on, etc. Well, this is a brief and basic descriptionof my Spider-man suit...
Well, lets start off with what it is made of. It is made from a fabric called LYCRA. It is a fabric similar to spandex or polyester. It stretches easily and is skin tight on the skin; it is made so it doesn't wrinkle. Its somwhat slippery, but thats just because its slick and smooth... The spiders on the front and back are made of rubber and glued on the fabric. The lenses are rubber with a white screen on them. Its hard to see through, but its fine. The webbing is printed on the fabric and made to look 3D.. The shoes on the bottom are made from the soles of CROCS, which are shoes like water shoes... The soles are sewn on.
Ok, that is a basic way of saying what the suit is made of. Here are some other minor details: its a one peice suit. Thats right, th boots, the gloves, the top, the bottoms, the mask, the whole sha-bang is sewn together. You cant take off the mask or anything else; it is recommended because it gives it an authentic look. To put it on, there are zippers attached from the armpits to the back of the waist, which allows you to get in and out of it.
Alright, sounds like a great suit, no? How much would something like this cost? Well, to be honest, my suit cost me $700. Yes, $700... I saved up for months, almost a year to get it. My suit is one of the best quality out there, its comfortable and it doesn't rip. If you want a suit that is similar to the same quality, you can get it for $600, but it doesnt have raised spiders. You can get one for $900 with raised webbing and spiders, but these ruin easily. These suits are made to fit whoever they are made for, by exact sizes. It takes a while to get it, but I can assure you, its worth it.
